--- Page 1 --- Celebrating the Life of Carl Juan Twyman June 21, 1949 - July 29, 2021 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, Thave kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 --- Page 2 --- Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. In Loving Memory of our Beloved Blue Carl Juan (Blue) Twyman was born on June 21, 1949, to Artis and Frank Twyman, in Chicago, Illinois and was known for his beautiful blue eyes hence, the nickname Blue" . He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Dunbar Vocational High School. Blue worked as a clerk at Harrison Bank and later pursued a career as a mechanic before completing a continuing education course at Loop City College. He later worked for over 25 years in California as a Journeyman with Labor Union 831. His passion was setting up and dismantling structures for convention shows and being a beneficiary of gifted wares and trinkets. In 1988 he married and bought a lovely home in Long Beach. Sadly, the marriage didn't last. For the past 29 years, Blue resided in Downey, traveled extensively and enjoyed his Jazz. and Gospel music. Every year, he planned a special trip for his birthday so he could explore exciting places. He liked driving nice cars and his latest acquisition was his "blue" BMW. Blue enjoyed attending Church, Jazz Festivals and family gatherings. He looked forward to his family prayer conference on Wednesdays and visiting other churches to fellowship. Blue leaves behind 5 sisters, Lillian, Fannie, Antonia, Maureen, Debbie and Yolanda; 3 nieces, Tanya, Wanda and Artis; 3 nephews, Herbert, Zeldon and Rashad, many cousins and his special friend in Christ, Kimberly. Blue is preceded in death by his sister, Valeria, brothers, Michael, Gregory and Anthony and his beloved parents. He was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. On July 29, 2021, heaven gained an angel as he peacefully transitioned home. Blue was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. --- Page 3 --- Order of Celebration Service ANGELUS CHAPEL Tuesday, August 17, 2021 - 10:00am Welcome & Prayer Rev.
