--- Page 1 --- Celebration of the Life and Legacy Of JACK DONALD "Butch" FRENCH March 12, 1951 - September 28, 2019 SERVICE Saturday, October 5, 2019 11:00 A.M. LONOKE BAPTIST CHURCH 1841 Lonoke Avenue Texarkana, AR 71854 Rev. Billy Ray Roberts, Officiant Rev. Larry Jordan, Eulogist --- Page 2 --- The Life of Jack Donald French... Jack Donald French, also known as Butch, Daddy, Papa, Unc ... but up in the city, they call him "Boss Jack", was born on March 12, 1951 to the late Robert and Onetta French. He graduated from Little River County Training School in 1969. Butch attended the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff and received a certificate in Auto Body. Afterwards, he served in the National Guard. He was employed with Domtar for 25 years. Butch professed his belief in Christ at an early age and was a member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. On August 22, 1982, Butch was united in Holy matrimony to Evelyn Joyce Roberts-French. They recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. He loved her with all that was within him. He was the per- fect example of how a King should treat his Queen. To know him was to love him. He was the most gentle, loving, charismatic, selfless man you could ever meet... simply, GENUINE !!! You couldn't ask for a better role model, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, or friend. He taught his children to be independent, hard working, strong-willed, and believers of God. With Buck, he taught him to work hard and be a provider for his family. He gave him his sense of style, outgoing personality, and how to be a smooth operator. With Detrick, he taught him to be a good loving person and how not to judge others. He taught him how to be cool and even gave him his lingo. With Nikki, he gave her his drive ... there's nothing that she can't do, or at least willing to try. He gave her the courage to fly free and be independent. With Missy, he taught her how to love and have a giving heart. He taught her to be strong, courageous, and to look out for her family... to always put others first and self last. With Justin, he taught him how to be a man. He gave him the skills to survive, to be a father, and to be a great husband when that lucky lady comes along. His grandchildren adored him and he adored them. They all were Papa's babies. He showered them with his love and affection. Everyone thought they were his favorite; and rightfully so, he made everyone feel that way. Butch left his earthly home on Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Onetta French, and one brother, Joe French. --- Page 3 --- Over the last 13 months, Butch fought the fight of this life not for himself, but for his family. That's the type of guy he was. Even dealing with his own illness, he kept his family first and did whatever was needed of him. Being that he always looked out for his family, that made it all the more easy for his children to look out for him. Along with his wife, they ensured he made it to every appointment in Dallas so he didn't have to worry about anything.
