(Cover: In Loving Memory Of James Williams, July 31, 1934 - March 5, 2004.) Obituary James Mack Williams was born in Jasper County, Mississippi to Rebecca and Ben Williams. He was the seventh child born to this union. He married Robbie Gavin in 1957 the same year the family moved to Chicago. This union produced six children. James served his country from 1955 to 1961. He received an honorable discharge from the Army after an injury in the line of duty. James had skills in many professions and was known for providing well for his family. In 1973 he retired from the tool and die plant in Melrose Park, Illinois. James served the Morgan Park Assembly church for over fifteen years. James also was a 32 degree Mason of the True Light Lodge # 79 A.F. & A.M. of Chicago, Illinois. On Friday, March 5th he joined loved ones who have preceded him in death. His parents, Rebecca and Ben; siblings Sam, Pete, Jesse, and Nancy; daughter, Vanessa Williams and grandson Kevin. He leaves to cherish his memories: Robbie Gavin his friend and wife for over 28 years. Two sons Richard (Janis) Gavin and Mark Williams. Three daughters Sarah Williams, Patricia (James) King and Wanda Williams. Nine grandchildren: Felicia, LaTonya, La'Keisha, Richard Jr., Ryan, Eric, James, and Emanuel. Three great grandchildren: Marcel, Ronnell, and RaSheara. Siblings Sarah Brown and Hester Norwood of Hattiesburg Mississippi. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Cousins and several good friends.
