Blackwood Grill, 10555 Southwest Highway, Worth, Illinois 60482. Obituary: Diane T. Marshall-Darring was born on January 2, 1946 to the late Beryl and Olga Garner-Marshall in Chicago, Illinois. On March 25, 2012, a sad day for us, our beloved Diane made her transition to rest in peaceful bliss. Diane maintained her faith in Buddhism. Diane attended Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Hirsch High School. She continued her education and her lifelong ambition of becoming a Professional Registered Nurse. Diane received her Associate of Arts in Science degree from Wright Junior College. She worked in various positions in banking at Home Federal Savings but her burning desire to help people and work in the medical field lead her to pursue her dream. Diane attended Medical Careers Institute and earned her Medical Assistant/EKG Technician Certificate. She began her new career as a EKG Technician at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. Diane loved working in the medical field and worked as a Medical Assistant at both the Southwest Family Medical Center and the Westside Medical Center. She became the Patient Advocate at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital where she was destined to meet her soulmate, Wayne Scott Darring. Diane and Wayne Scott were united in Holy Matrimony on November 4, 1995. Diane, staying steadfast to her dream continued her education. She attained her BSN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chicago State University in May, 1998. Diane became a Professional Registered Nurse and worked diligently at Michael Reese Hospital until her painful struggle with a spinal condition that forced her to take disability leave. Still pursuant, Diane took continuing education courses in nursing online to update and keep her RN license current. In February, 2012, facing physical challenges, she renewed her RN License in contemplation of her eventual return to the nursing field. Diane's passion for helping people and trying to make them feel better was reflected in her life with her friends and all the people she interacted with. As a devoted wife, a loyal friend, a caring and generous person, Diane was always willing to help others. She performed countless quiet acts of kindness that were never heralded. With her fantastic sense of humor, her infectious laugh and genuine warmth, Diane could easily lift your spirits and make you feel better. Diane's older brother, George Garner preceded her in death, but she leaves to cherish memories of her: her loving husband, Wayne Scott Darring; her siblings, Lorraine Lucas, Victor (Joan), David (Sherell), James (Gloria), Steven (Valerie) Marshall, and Esther Hurd (Clifton); and a host of relatives and friends. She will be missed by all, including Sunny, her adorable Turkish Van cat, who she always said loved her unconditionally. We love you too Diane and you'll always be in our hearts.
