Celebrating The Homegoing of Creola Jacobs. October 19, 1934 - November 5, 2013. Friday, November 15, 2013. Visitation: 10:00 A.M. - Service: 11:00 A.M. Ebenezer M.B. Church, 4501 S. Vincennes Ave., Chicago, IL 60653. Rev. Marcel Kerr, Officiating. Obituary: Creola Jacobs was born in Mayersville, MS on October 19, 1934 to her parents, Mr. Pink Cowens and Mrs. Nancy Merrill Cowens. She is survived by siblings: Allie Lee and Rebecca Peterson. The family relocated to Chicago, IL. She was joined in matrimony to Chummy Herbert Jacobs and from this union was born 4 children, the late Pamela (Jacobs) Threet, Cassandra (Jacobs) Edwards, Leslie Jacobs and LeShawn Jacobs. Creola retired from Sears after 42 years of dedicated service as an Administrative employee in the Purchasing Dept. Creola confessed to Christ and through her long time friendship with Vivian Peak she became a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a proud member of the Maggie Pryor Circle. Creola made her transition on November 5, 2013 to eternal life. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Michael Threet, Jr., daughter Pamela (Jacobs) Threet and her great granddaughter Amira Threet. Creola leaves to cherish her memories, 3 children: Cassandra (Jacobs) Edwards, Leslie Jacobs and LeShawn Jacobs; 4 grandchildren: Shannon (Edwards) Wright, Dawn Edwards, Christopher Threet and Ashley Jacobs; 9 great grandchildren: Brittany Wright, Tracey Wright Jr., Dante Wright, Andrianne Wright, Sarah Wright, Kristen Wright, Raven Redding, Michael Threet III, and Michael Allen McKay; 3 great great grandchildren: DeShaun, Jaden and Zyire Wright. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, family and her church family. Order of Service: Organ Prelude; Processional; Presentation (Gatling's Chapel); Invocation, Scripture, Prayer (Rev. Marcel Kerr); Selection (Choir); Acknowledgment of Condolences (At a later date); Remarks (2 Minutes, Please); Obituary (Read Silently); Selection (Choir); Eulogy (Rev. Marcel Kerr); Recessional. Prepast: Ebenezer M.B. Church. Interment - Private by family only. Arrangements entrusted to Gatling's Chapel, Chicago, Illinois.
