Obituary: Druella Randolph Dickens was born September 2, 1916 to the union of Frederick Randolph and Bessie Gray in Helena, Arkansas, the oldest of five children. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death. She was converted at New Light Baptist Church at the age of ten years, Rev. A. M. Hardy, Pastor. She received her Elementary and High School education at Eliza Miller High School. She came to Chicago in 1944 enrolled in a Business College which prepared her for her job at Spiegel for seventeen years. Shortly after her arrival in Chicago, she united with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. J. H. L. Smith. Being a Christian young lady she got involved in the activities of the church's Sunday School Teacher for Adults No. Two Class and president of that Department and sang in the Senior Choir for many years. In 1952, she was married to Jerimah Dickens for sixteen happy years when he passed away. Druella has kept active in her church activities praising the Lord; one of her high delights was presenting the high points of the Sunday School lesson. A member of Mission One, Recording, Correspondent and Financial Secretary. A well spent life serving God and her church. These are the memories she leaves to her church family. He made sure that all doctors appointments was made on time. When hospitalized, daily visit made until her demise. All we can say is God continue to bless you for your dedicated Christian Mission Work. We also thank her neighbor Mr. & Mrs. Wilson and family for their help and concern for Sis.
