Pulaski Road - Country Club Hills, 60478 --- Page 2 --- Roger T. Kimbrew Roger Terry Kimbrew was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 6, 1962 to the late Lula Mae Kimbrew and Curlee Kimbrew, Sr., who both preceded him in glory. He was the 8*h sibling of ten children. Roger grew up on the south side of Chicago where he attended Coleman Elementary School and DuSable High School. He enjoyed roller skating, music, singing, dancing (steppin), and occasionally played the piano, organ, trumpet, guitar, and drums. Roger also loved to draw. From drawing and creating cartoon characters to blue prints and designs, he was very talented and creative. Roger accepted Christ in his life at an early age and attended St. Matthew M.B. Church, under the ministry of the late Rev. Joseph P. Gordon. Roger was well loved by everyone he encountered and was known for his great sense of humor. While attending Coleman Elementary School, Roger met and became the best friend to Vincent White. They were actually more like brothers. Vincent was like a son and brother to the Kimbrew family, as well as Roger like a son and brother to the White Family. Roger became the godson to Vincent's parents, Herbert and Marie White-Griggs, and was accepted in their household as one of their own. Roger continued to spiritually grow and later became a member of the "God's House of All Nations" Church, located on the southeast side of Chicago, under the ministry of Bishop Elgin E. Little, I. Soon after graduating from High School, Roger enrolled in an apprenticeship program, encouraged by another best friend of more than 30 years, John Moore. Roger and John had a deep passion for becoming electricians, at which they both succeeded. Upon completing the program, by trade, Roger became a member of the Local 134 I.B.E.W. (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). Roger loved his job and enjoyed vacationing and spending quality time with his two beautiful daughters, from a previous marriage, Felice and Terri. Roger enjoyed traveling; most often to the Dominican Republic where he met his love of six years, fiancée, Cristina Burroa-Hernandez. To them a son was born, Roger Kimbrew Berroa, whom preceded him in glory at the tender age of only four months old. The Lord called Roger home on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 3:26 am. He leaves cherished memories in the heart of his loving two daughters, Felice and Terri; one son, Roger Berroa Kimbrew, (preceded him in glory); fiancée, Cristina Berroa-Hernandez; parents, Curlee Kimbrew, Sr. and Lula Mae Kimbrew, (both preceded him in glory); five sisters, Earlee, Catherine, Denise, (preceded him in glory); Phyllis (Archie); and Darnella; four brothers, William, Joe, Cornelious, and Titus; seven nephews, Ahmad, Jamaal (preceded him in glory); Antoine, Archie Jr., Arron, Terick, and Jeremiah; two nieces, Coclough, and Terica; and a host of cousins, other relatives, loved ones and dear friends. Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrow and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing but our sadness can really pass away, and think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing loved is ever Cost, and he was loved so much. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The family of Roger Terry Kimbrew wish to thank everyone for the expressions of love that you have shown through cards, letters, phone calls, and visits. The many expressions of sympathy shall never be forgotten. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. God Bless You.
