Obituary: Evelyn Clara Hattie Terry Thomas was born in Charleston, Mississippi, was the eleventh child of the late William Nelson and Alcola Phillips Terry, born August 18, 1924. The family relocated to Kosciusko, Mississippi after the passing of their father. Mother united with the family church Marble Rock Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend Solomon Brown. Mother graduated from Attala County Training School in Kosciusko in 1945. Mother joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral ship of the Rev. J.H.L. Smith in 1946. Mother worked on the Sunday School Teacher board in the Senior Department for years which Sister Maggie Pryor was superintendent. Later mother worked with the youth fellowship with the young ladies along with Sister Estella Reid. Later mother was elected as the church calendar clerk for a period of time. Mother continued teaching Sunday School in the senior department for years, also, mother continued working with various Ebenezer departments until mother's car accident many years ago. After this tragic accident, mother stopped working on the various committees, but never ceased Loving the Lord and Praising Him. Mother was a family orientated person; mother loved being at home cooking for her family and gardening and loved to watch her garden grow. Mother was very proud in 2009 when her daughter was elected as one of Trustee Board members of Ebenezer. Mother said "God is opening doors for you baby, that you may not understand, But God knows, Let Him guide your steps, and you won't go wrong. Allow God to use you as a vessel and do his work through you." On October 27, 2013, Mother walked hand and hand with God passing this earthly journey on to eternal life.
