On December 9, 1911 in Holy Springs, Mississippi, Willie Eldridge Ingram was born to the proud parents of Bertha and Henry Ingram. He was one of eight children. Willie received his education in Mississippi. He served his country during World War II, while in the United States Army. He received an Honorable Discharge. Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to Zonnie Thomas on November 24, 1947. Willie founded the peace and joy of the Lord and was baptized in 1949 and became a member of Progressive Baptist Church in Chicago. He was employed at Campbell Soup Company for over twenty-five years and he retired from there in 1976. Willie was a very loving and caring person who loved his family. He also loved fixing things, he was always fixing things. He was the neighborhoods bicycle expert, could repair any bicycle. Willie also a master gardener, loved to grow his own vegetables. Willie was preceded in death by his brothers, Felix, Robert, Ben; his sisters, Annie Adams, Resse Ruggles and Lenora; his children, John Thomas, Harry, and Anthony. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2004. Willie leaves to cherish his memories: his children: Roberta Ingram, Larry (Jackie), and David; grandchildren: John Thomas ~ children, Angie (Earnest) McMiller, Michael Thomas, Phillip Thomas; Robert Ingram ~ children, Niambi Ingram and Piankhi Ingram; Larry Ingram ~ children, Larry Ingram Jr. (deceased) and Prentice Ingram; David Ingram ~ children, Jasmine Ingram, Victor Ingram and Sierra Ingram; great grandchildren, Angie ~ children, Jackie McMiller, Earnest McMiller Jr. and Eric McMiller; Niambi ~ children, Turiya Ingram and Jendayi Ingram; Prentice ~ child, Romeo Ingram; and a host of other relatives and friends.
