She was born August 3, 1942 to the late Jeraldine Pennington and Gus Pennington. She ac- cepted Christ at a young age at Mount Sinai CME Church. She was a devoted Christian until her health fail. She was a very loving person and always told everyone she love them. She was a very hard worker. She worked at Cham- pion for 25 years and Tyson Foods for six years. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Johnny Pennington. She was married to John Earl Horton, unto this union six children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Lizzie Con- ner; and one brother, James (Bobbie) Pennington; also two daughters, Sandra Horton and Tina (Nick) Ramsey, all of Hope, Arkansas; four sons, Calvin (Gwen) Horton, Steven (Yavone) Horton, David (Deborah) Horton, all of Hope and James (Shirley) Horton of Monticello, Arkan- sas; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. So He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me." With tearful eyes I watched you and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me He only takes the best.
