Life's Precious Memories The creator not only concerned about my earthly existence, but also provides for my eternal destiny, whom not only gave me a comfortable dwelling place on earth, he promised me a perfect home in heaven. This was the earthly life of Willie Lou Taylor who entered that perfect home on January 3, 2007. Willie Lou was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was the second child of Sadie & Willie Jenkins Jr. Her mother passed away when she was only 18 months old. She was reared by her sainted great aunt, Mattie Green. At the age of 5 years she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized by Pastor J.P. McClellan and became the youngest member of Bethel Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to serving God and her fellow man. Willie Lou Jenkins married her childhood sweetheart, James Luther Taylor, and lived a happy and devoted life together for more than 40 years, until he went home to the Lord. Willie Lou and James moved to Chicago and she immediately joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served faithfully for 31 years. She also joined the Mission #2 Society and was 3rd Vice President. In October 1978, she cast her lot with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She began her fellowship and service with the Senior Usher Board and the Mission #2 Society. She was financial secretary of the Usher Board and the Lydia Circle. She was a member of the Margarite Daniel Club, and of Class 17 in Sunday School and District Ushers. She loved the Antioch Church family, and was a faithful servant for over 30 years. Willie Lou was employed by Weibolts stores for 27 years in the central credit office. She was married to Rev. Charles E. Lamb on June 2, 1984, until her death, 22 1/2 years. She leaves to treasure her memory, a special daughter, Linda Woods; special son, Johnny Woods; special nephew, Willie (Helen) Johnson; stepdaughter, Valerie Parker, Phyllis (Paul) Burton of Lansing, MI; step granddaughter, Sharhonda (Robert) Allen of Lansing, MI; JoAnn Seye, Berthena Roberts, a host of relatives and friends. Special recognition to Mother Theresa House and staff in Lansing, Michigan; and Great Lakes of Hospice in Lansing, MI. Order of Transitory Service: Scripture; Prayer; Musical Selection; Acknowledgement of Condolences; Obituary - Read In Silence; Remarks/Resolutions - Sister Yvonne Wesley, Church Clerk; Musical Selection; Sermon - Pastor Gerald M. Beyond the sunset a blissful morning / With our Savior, Heaven began. / Earth's toiling ended, O glorious dawning. / Beyond the sunset when day is done, / Beyond the sunset a hand will guide me / To God, the father whom I adore. / His glorious presence, His words of welcome / Will be my portion on that fair share.
