Greater Heights Ministers Church of God in Christ 3310 Jefferson Avenue • Texarkana, AR 71854 Elder Elvis Scott, Officiating Blder Donald Vaughn, Eulogist --- Page 2 --- Obituary Ms. Della (Hill) Woods was born on August 3, 1934, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to the late William Hill and Manearva (Gibson) Hill. God saw the road was getting rough, and the road of life had become too hard to travel. He gently closed the eyes of our beloved sister, Della Woods and said "Peace be Thine. " Della confessed her love for Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia Baptist Church. She later united with Crater He heat Ministries under Pastor Donald Vaughn. She attended church regularly until her health failed. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Texarkana, Arkansas. Ms. Woods was employed with the Polar Bear in Texarkana, Arkansas, for a number of years. Later she begin working at Lone Star Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, Texas. Della retired from the Packing and Shipping Dept, at Red River Army Depot in Hooks, Texas in 1997. After retirement, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, gardening, fishing, and caring for her family. Della was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie Woods, Jr.; one son, Jerry Woods, Sr.: four brothers, Odis, Ezekiel, Sylvester, and William Hill; two sisters, Elnora Gaines and Elizabeth Houston; three grandsons, Carlos, Nigel, and Meco Woods. Della leaves her legacy to be carried on by her loving family: Sons: Charles and Direk Woods both of Texarkana, Arkansas Daughters: Betty (Leonard) Whitfield and Sandra Woods of Texarkana, Arkansas Siblings: Lenora Washington of Compton, California and Mable Atkins of Texarkana, Arkansas Eighteen grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren, and twenty great great grandchildren A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
